As a non-profit volunteer organization and registered charity, number 770909943RR0001, ECS raises and uses funds in order to help people in need by providing food aid and occasional assistance in variable expenses mainly to residents of Saint-Lambert and Lemoyne, Quebec. In addition, ECS facilitates services and provides financial donations to selected registered charities in the areas of poverty relief, mental health support, assistance to the elderly, vulnerable, homeless, marginalized, victims of domestic or spousal violence, disabled, and new arrivals in the community of the Longueuil Agglomeration.

Our History

Ecumenical Community Services (ECS), is a volunteer community service group that was founded in February 1979 by Ethel Bisgrove and Georgina Baxter of the St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. Three other churches joined in the early 1980’s and began to cooperate in 1981 by providing Christmas Baskets to the less fortunate in the community.

ECS is a group of five Saint-Lambert churches, notably: St-Andrews Presbyterian, St-Barnabas Anglican, St-Francis of Assisi RC, Good Shepherd Lutheran and Saint-Lambert United. All churches and their congregants support ECS financially and provide volunteers.
